Welcome

Our directory is packed with information - search by theme, or by VCSO. This is an expanding resource – please let other schools and VCSOs know about us.

ABC Leeds is a city-wide strategic programme that supports and promotes school access to agencies, or Voluntary, Community and Statutory Organisations (VCSOs). The programme primarily supports VCSOs working onsite in schools, overseen by a member of school staff, supporting and enriching the school curriculum.

VCSOs are an extremely valuable resource for schools. The Children Act 2004 sets an agenda that requires a co-ordinated approach with VCSOs to support the five Every Child Matters outcomes for young people: Be healthy, Stay safe, Enjoy and achieve, Make a positive contribution, Achieve economic well-being.

The ABC Leeds Protocol provides a set of criteria for effective partnership working for both schools and VCSOs.

ABC Leeds Quality Mark gives recognition to schools and VCSOs, whilst enhancing VCSO practise.

VCSOs and other training providers offering off-site vocational and work related learning programmes are offered a quality assurance framework through the Education Leeds 14-19 team.

In addition, the Education Leeds Service Advice Team offer a range of approved traded services to schools, with advise on procurement and contract management.
