ABC Leeds Quality Mark

ABC Leeds Quality Mark (QM) Levels 1, 2 & 3 gives recognition to VCSOs that:

can provide evidence of good practice in schools;
commit to key basic legal requirements; and
are trained to work effectively in partnership with schools, and with young people in a formal educational setting.

The QM training support package offered by ABC Leeds contributes to VCSO professional development, to improve confidence, skills, expertise and knowledge when working in a school setting.

Once a VCSO has successfully completed Quality Mark Level 1, details of the organisation are uploaded onto the ABC website directory, which can be directly accessed by schools. A star (one for each Quality Mark Level) will be attached to VCSO contact details.

Quality Mark Level 1: VCSOs will attain level 1 by:

successful completion of the agency registration form and returning it to ABC Leeds
this includes signing and adhering to the ABC Leeds Protocol (senior member of staff)

Quality Mark Level 2: VCSOs will attain level 2 by:

attending ABC Leeds Protocol & web site training
completing the ABC Leeds self validation
external moderation visit

NB complete ABC Leeds will still provide a training programme for VCSO staff that requires additional support to qualify for QM2 or simply to enhance and update VCSO staff on educational matters.

Training programme will include:

Child Protection – (or access to)
PSHE & Citizenship training
Personalised Learning, Lesson plans & Evaluation
Classroom Management

Quality Mark Level 3: Certification

This is a more in depth programme to support VCSO expertise in a given curriculum area. Certification:

Food
Physical
Education Arts
